Co-supervised with Dr. Carlos Cruz, Ahmed Al-Tamimi is a PhD student. He joined Dr. Cruz and Dr. Yuxiang Chen’s research groups in September 2018. His research focuses on Thermal Energy Storage (TES) systems, specializing in Building Integrated Thermal Energy Storage (BITES) System to develop a sustainable heating system with lower energy consumption and high thermal efficiency. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) will be used to build up the model and study the affecting parameters. Furthermore, an experimental program for the optimized models will be conducted with a large-scale setup to validate the simulation results.
