He started his MSc In September 2018. Miguelangel obtained his Bachelor of Engineering in Civil engineering in 2017 at Universidad Santa Maria in Venezuela. He started is MSc program at the University of Alberta in September 2018. He has also obtained a certificate on Seismic Design of Commercials Buildings granted by the Universidad de Carabobo in Venezuela (2017)
Miguelangel Bilotta is working on the comparison of North American standards (CSA S304-16 and TMS 406/602-16) for the design of Masonry Walls subjected to out of plane bending and axial force. The standards are compared against results obtained from Finite Element (FE) numerical model, and its effectiveness are assessed. The model is validated using experimental evaluation on Slender Masonry Walls. New rational analysis could be developed based on the findings.
